STRATFORD CHEFS SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE

The Open House program is finished for the 2009-2010 school year. Interested students are still welcome to tour the facilities and meet with admissions staff. To arrange a tour, please contact bfriesen@stratfordchef.com or call 519-271-1414.

If you are thinking about applying to our School to pursue your training, you may want to take advantage of our Open House program, which offers prospective students the chance to come and be a student for a day at the Stratford Chefs School.

Prospective students are paired with a first-year student and spend the day in our kitchens and classrooms.

When you arrive at the Open House in the morning, you'll be greeted by your host and attend a first-year practical class.  The class will give you a sense of the kinds of recipes you would learn as a student at the Stratford Chefs School as well as the ingredients you would work with and the type of training that you would receive.

After class, you'll have lunch with one of the staff, who will also show you around our facilities. Lunch is provided at no cost to the visiting student as part of the Open House program. While other guests are more than welcome to join us, it is the guests'/parents/ responsibility to pay for the additional lunch costs.

Next, your student host will meet you before the afternoon theory class. You will sit in on the first theory class of the afternoon, which might be Food Costing, Gastronomy, Communications, Wine or Kitchen Management. When classes are over, your host will bring you back to meet with the admissions staff. There you can ask any questions you might have about the program, financial aid and life in Stratford.

Please note that a credit card will be required to register for an Open House.  There is no charge for the day, but we respectfully request that you advise us 24 hours in advance if you are unable to make your appointment. A $50 charge will appear if no cancellation notice is provided. Weather is excluded.
