THE ESCOFFIER CIRCLE - BUILDING A FUTURE

GOOD COOKING IS THE FOUNDATION OF TRUE HAPPINESS
–Georges Auguste Escoffier, 1846 to 1935

Within the first year after we established The Escoffier Circle in May 2005, it attracted 26 inaugural supporters.

WHAT THE CIRCLE'S CONTRIBUTIONS ENABLE US TO DO?

The Circle—an annual membership program that finances the long-term growth of the School—focusses on developing capital projects.

WHY?

· To enable our School to hold onto its top spot as the preeminent training facility for Canadian chefs

· To provide world-class facilities for the world-class learning we offer

· To provide ongoing resources that allow us to maintain these facilities over the long term

BIT OF BACKGROUND

While our core teaching centres continue to be Rundles and The Old Prune restaurants, we’ve had to lease off-site storage units as well as two satellite teaching spaces—both, small and cramped—to accommodate our growing School.

Thanks to the guidance of Professor Ken Hardy of the prestigious Richard Ivey School of Business, we have a strategic plan in place—one that guides the allocation of Escoffier funds.

WHAT YOU CAN MAKE POSSIBLE

· A full service teaching kitchen

· Centralized facilities equipped for proper food purchasing, receiving and holding

· An in-the-round theory classroom with state-of-the-art projection and flexible project workspace

· A library and culinary research centre to support the unique focus of the Stratford Chefs School on Canadian gastronomy

· A wine-appreciation training lab

· A conference room, retail shop and administration office

FOR YOU

Join our Circle in laying the foundation for the future stability and growth of our outstanding training centre. You will:

· Receive a report annually

· Be invited to attend two fabulous social functions: a dinner and a summer garden party
